Lutheran Services in America is once again offering its “Trading Graces” auction on eBay to benefit Lutheran social ministries across the U.S. and the Caribbean. Visit the site to volunteer, donate or visit the preview gallery. The auction started Feb. 6 and will continue through June.

“The world now has the means to end extreme poverty, we pray we will have the will.” This simple prayer is the “counting prayer”—not because it involves counting but because the number of petitions offered is being counted until the Millennium Development Goals (eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; achieve universal primary education, promote gender equality and empower women; reduce child mortality; improve maternal health, combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases; ensure environmental sustainability; create a global partnership for development) are met. The ELCA has endorsed the goals.
