Update: Lutheran laryngitis

"Doctor of evangelism” Tom Zinda (right) reports a cure for a “widespread and serious medical condition” whose discovery was first reported “not in a medical journal, but in the August 2007 issue of The Lutheran magazine.”

Doctor of evangelism Tom Zinda The disease? Lutheran laryngitis.

In January, Zinda and other members of the evangelism team at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls, Wis., presented a series of temple talks and skits to show members how everyday moments can become opportunities to invite others to church.

Evangelism scenarios included talking to fellow parents at a youth sporting event, working out at a fitness center, talking with colleagues and receiving visitors at home.

Zinda even dressed in his pajamas one Sunday to remind toddlers that they, too, can invite friends to the congregation’s “PJ’s and prayers” ministry.
