It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see (Acts 3:16b; New International Version).
Recently I spent an afternoon teaching my granddaughters how to use a sewing machine. One at a time they sat at the machine and pushed the foot pedal. I helped them guide the material through the pressure foot and needle. Then I turned the seams they had sewn right-side-out to show them what they’d accomplished. The look of amazement and delight on their faces was my delight too.
Peter and John stopped to help a lame man. They told him to get up and walk in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The crowds who witnessed this were astonished. Peter and John assured the crowd that the healing wasn’t because of their efforts but due to the faith that comes through Jesus.
