You know about the Super Bowl, but did you know there’s a Luther Bowl? Thaddeus “Thadd” Book, a student at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, plays in the Nov. 10 flag football tournament at the Lutheran Seminary at Gettysburg (Pa.). In its first tournament appearance, the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago trounced Southern Seminary 27-0 in the final game to take home the Book of Concord trophy.
The Luther Bowl was originally between Gettysburg and the Lutheran Seminary at Philadelphia. The last two years it has included eight teams, and this year organizers even had to turn one late entry away.
