Most don’t trust the church ... less than half of Americans responding to a June Gallup Poll—46 percent—said they had either a “great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the church. But other once-revered institutions fare even worse in the people’s opinion.

Here’s who the public trusts most:

54% police officers
46% organized religion
25% presidency
14% Congress
