Healing is 'calling' for Alaska pediatrician

After more than 20 years as a pediatrician in Fairbanks, Alaska, Marvin E. Bergeson now sees children of the children he has cared for.

His popularity was noted in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner when a readers’ poll of local “favorites” selected him as top doctor.

And seconding that opinion was the Alaska Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, which gave Bergeson the “Friend of Alaska’s Children” award. According to the academy, the doctor was honored for his many years of service and contributions to the health of Alaska’s children. A monetary award will be donated to libraries of the doctor’s choosing.
