Greg Mortenson has scaled mountain peaks and
traversed cultural barriers. Yet he admits that standing before a group
of people and sharing his incredible story makes him a bit
uncomfortable.
Public appearances, including one this spring as the 2007 commencement speaker at his alma mater, Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., have become regular occurrences for the adventurer and author. The paperback edition of Three Cups of Tea, which documents his achievements, landed (and has stayed) on The New York Times best-seller list since it was released in February. It also was named “Asia Book of the Year” by Time. (See "The story behind the book.")
