Jesus tells parables to describe God’s kingdom. He does not directly answer the questions that the disciples—or we—often ask:When will the kingdom of God come? What signs should we look for. Exactly what will God’s kingdom be like? Jesus doesn’t define the kingdom of God for us. Instead, in familiar stories, with a twist, he points to, hints at and helps us glimpse the things that God is passionate about so we can receive the kingdom of God—even though we may not fully understand it.
