Youth went canoeing on the Red Cedar River while at the American Lutheran Church’s 10th International Luther League convention, Aug. 21-26, 1951, at Michigan State College, East Lansing. If youth didn’t fancy paddling a canoe, they could also play softball, ice skate or go log rolling. (Note: Michigan State College became Michigan State University in 1955.)
