A pause for prayer

Walkers on the ecumenical Christian Peace Witness for Iraq stop for prayer, led by Bob Edgar (center), president of the National Council of Churches. The more than 3,000 marchers in the March 16 event in Washington, D.C., began with workshops and worship at several churches, including the National Cathedral, and ended at Lafayette Park, across from the White House. Glen Gersmehl, Lutheran Peace Fellowship national coordinator, was among the event leaders and organized workshops led by fellowship members.
