The Deaconess Community of the ELCA debuts Rescue Riders, a computer game available for free download from its Web site. Brian Plagge, a high-school student and member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, Iowa, had this to say about the game: “The new game Rescue Riders presents a healthy alternative to the blood and gore of many modern-day games on the market. As a local missionary, a player’s objective is to deliver emergency supplies to disaster victims, charities and people in need.” The game is available for Windows users only.

Visit the National Council of Churches in Christ’s Eco-Justice Programs Web site for a variety of downloadable resources, including Out of the Wilderness, a resource and liturgy that explores the role of the wilderness in Christianity. Free registration required.

This site, hosted by Sojourners/Call to Renewal, provides resources for those interested in coordinating or participating in March 16 “Christian Peace Witness for Iraq” events in Washington, D.C., and elsewhere. Find logos, theological resources, fliers and schedules, or follow links to resources for nonviolence training. Lutheran Peace Fellowship is a partner in this event.
