"Life goes on” ... so the saying goes. A couple
of friends recently lost loved ones. They don’t want to hear this
saying. When someone we love dies, we want life to stop and rewind. We
want to return to the first time, or the last time, we held that person
in our arms.
How can life just go on?
But it
does. The sun continues to rise in golden glory in the eastern sky, and
at the end of the day it sets in glimmering red flames in the western
sky. Birds continue to chirp. People rise and start their workday.
Babies are born. Teenagers demand independence. People move into their
first homes—and their last.
Life goes on.
