A picture of aid

A young boy at Laubje Internally Displaced Person camp outside Kitgum, Uganda, uses red mud to make a camera and other toys.

More than 300,000 Ugandans live in IDP camps following a 20-year war between the government and Lord’s Resistance Army rebels. The LRA has been known to fill its ranks by abducting children for soldiers or sex slaves.

The Lutheran World Federation, Lutheran World Relief and Action by Churches Together work with a host of local partners to bring clean drinking water, sanitation, food and health care to this war-ravaged region.
