Minneapolis-based Thrivent Financial for Lutherans’ employees and volunteers—including Katelyn Fink (left), David Fink and Robin Fink, all of Eagan, Minn.—met May 4 and 6 to package more than 525,000 nutritious meals for 1,440 starving children in Zambia, Africa. The meals, consisting of rice, soy nuggets, vitamins and dehydrated vegetables, will feed the children for an entire year. Feed My Starving Children, a Twin Cities-based nonprofit, coordinated the event as part of Join Hands Day, a national day of intergenerational volunteerism.
