Martin Luther surely would approve. The ELCA Board of Pensions invites you to walk two miles a day during the 40 days of Lent in its new “Here I Step” program (www.elcabop.org).
The board encourages decreasing caloric intake, increasing physical activity and living prayerfully. It has determined that the two miles daily allows you to journey the distance (80 miles) from Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth to Jerusalem.
“Taking the ‘Here I Step’ challenge is a great way to continue your journey to wellness while nurturing your relationship with God,” says Tammy Devine, ELCA wellness coordinator.
