When folks at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Easton, Pa., exit the sanctuary Sunday mornings, they don't just make a beeline for the coffee pot. They also head to the large meeting room to examine the walls. On those walls hang paintings and photos by local artists. But art-gazers must also watch where they're going — lest they run into a sculpture. The Gallery at St. John's, which opened last fall, created a new bond between congregation and community.
