My father's image

Baptism leaves an indelible mark

It was love at first sight. When my daughter was born, the nurse looked at her and at me, exclaiming, “Oh my, she looks just like you.” It made an impact I’m only now starting to grasp.

As a new father, I have a glimpse into the kind of incalculable love our Heavenly Father has for us. And I thought the love for my child was huge. God created us in his image. That image was defaced when sin entered the world.

In baptism the likeness of our Heavenly Father is restored. In Christ we now bear the image of God. As we continue to live out our baptism, we continue to grow into the likeness of our loving Creator.
