Lutheran World Relief, Baltimore, through an easy-to-use discussion forum technology, presents an online book discussion of The End of Poverty by Jeffrey Sachs. The chapter-by-chapter discussion is led by Jim Martin-Schramm, associate professor of religion at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa. The conversation began in late September. If reading more is one of your New Year’s resolutions, check back with the club in January, when it plans to select its next book for discussion. The book club is part of LWR’s virtual university, a series of courses that meet by phone and online through April 2006. Participation in the club is free; enrollment in the virtual university is $50.
