Making 'Choices'

For Judy and Bob Suttenfield of Mount Holly, N.C., the midnight phone call May 3, 1996, was a parent's worst nightmare: Their 25-year-old son, Bobby, had been shot. He died before they could get to the hospital.

Members of the family's congregation, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Mount Holly, were stunned.

And even though Bobby's murderer was tried, convicted and sentenced to not less than 26 years in prison, the family still struggled with whether or not they could ever forgive and move on.
