The assembly adopted budgets for 2006 and 2007 on Saturday.
For 2006, the budget was approved at current fund fiscal year income of $81,228,515, and World Hunger income was approved at $16,750,000.
For 2007, the budget was approved at current fund fiscal year income of $81,539,500, and World Hunger income was approved at $17 million.
ELCA World Hunger income is set aside for dealing with hunger and poverty in the U.S. and globally.
Knute Ogren, New England Synod, urged ELCA seminaries to address stewardship principles with students and develop programs for congregations and pastors.
