In Orlando

I hear a familiar phrase with increasing frequency, “Well, we will have to wait and see what happens in Orlando.” We cannot minimize the concerns for this church and the decisions voting members will make at the Churchwide Assembly. But if you could look in, here is what I believe you will see.

You will see voting members, staff and visitors gather daily for worship. The proclamation of the gospel through the means of grace forgives, frees and unites us in Christ for lives of faith, witness and service. Centered in worship we will receive and tend to God’s gifts.

You will hear voting members engage in the five-year participatory process of Renewing Worship. They will receive and act on the recommendation that we proceed with a new primary book of worship and a whole family of resources.
