The art is from an extensive collection of reproductions assembled by James Limburg, professor of Old Testament at Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn. Limburg began collecting Jonah art more than 15 years ago when he noticed artists offered insights into the story that theologians seemed to miss. He included these insights into his study, Jonah: A Commentary, (Westminster/John Knox, 1993).
