A new series celebrates and shares God's blessing in the gift of psalms

Epiphany is the season of gift giving. We celebrate the Magi coming from afar and offering gifts to the Christ child. This coming year I have the privilege of sharing with you the gift of psalms.

Psalms are two-way gifts: They bear God's words to us as well as our words to God. Praying the psalms binds us to the whole company of saints, past and present.

The biblical book of Psalms captures our varied experiences — from sorrow to joy, anger to repentance, questions to wonder and assurance — and places them in God's hands. And as we pray the psalms, they provide a way for God to shape our religious life into something bigger than our own experience.
