"I am honored in the sight of the Lord ..." (Isaiah 49:5).
On a cold winter night when the
forecast predicted heavy snow, I said to my spouse: "Tomorrow I'm going
to start working on those pictures." She knew I was talking about those
boxes of photos of family and friends from years ago that had never
been organized or framed or placed into notebooks for easy viewing.
Those pictures!
Some cultures have a
taboo against taking photographs because the people believe that
somehow these images will capture their souls. In a way, images do
exactly this. Perhaps that's why we find a certain honor inherent in
the photographs we come to treasure.
