Get God on speed dial?

It's almost possible, tout developers of InSpirit, who say their program "makes connecting with God easier by providing mobile phone access to inspirational Christian content."

Downloading InSpirit into your phone connects Sprint PCS and Verizon Wireless subscribers to daily devotional messages, a comic strip and comedy routines, and a directory of Bible passages based on areas of interest such as relationships, health, weight loss and money. A feature called "Contact" connects callers to InSpirit staff for prayer or one-on-one conversation.

Rob Boyer, InSpirit president and a Republican in the Kansas House of Representatives, said the service provides "a nonthreatening alternative for those who haven't been exposed to the Christian experience or feel uncomfortable walking into a church."

The program costs $3.99 a month and is available only for specific wireless phone models.
