Dual ELCA-LCMS congregations face deadline

By January 2000 they'll have to choose or get the LCMS boot

Six congregations with ties to both the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Lutheran Church­Missouri Synod face a January 2000 deadline imposed by the LCMS to end their dual status. "I can't see where God is in this," said one church secretary. "It's a painful time for the congregation."
