An unrostered gay man in a committed relationship was installed Nov. 11 as pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran, a 40-member ELCA congregation in Key West, Fla.
Arlo D. Peterson, 54, is the most recent of several noncelibate gay clergy to be irregularly ordained or installed in ELCA congregations in Missouri, California, Iowa and Minnesota despite ELCA policies.
