At Bethphage, people with disabilities inspire youth

"If God's love can be represented by anything at all on Earth, it would be Bethphage," says Dan Magers, describing a retreat his youth group held at Bethphage. The ELCA social ministry organization serves and advocates for people with mental and physical disabilities in 12 states, Great Britain and Latvia.

Last summer, 19 youth from Magers' congregation, Trinity Lutheran, Rockford, Ill., worked at Bethphage's Axtell, Neb., campus. The experience was a faith-deepening one, says Trinity member Amber DiGuiseppi.
