Harold S. Vogelaar is resident scholar of missions and world religions at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Between 1963 and 1988, he was a missionary in the Arabian Gulf and Egypt. There he served congregations, was a hospital chaplain, and taught and directed the Center for Study of Religion at the Evangelical Theological Seminary, Cairo.
