David Barbutes was only 6, but he instinctively knew how to ease the grief of Mary Ann Kramer, 81, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Warren, Ohio. He sat with her at worship.
What has transpired since is a story of intergenerational love and ministry.
How did David know that it's difficult for many new widows and widowers to return to their familiar pew? "I just figured it out one day," David explained. "I don't want Mrs. Kramer to be lonely, and I just went and sat with her."
