Kiss of kindness

Congregation's gifts are 'a picture of grace'

Some would say giving away soft drinks, cleaning strangers' toilets or paying for moviegoers' tickets have little to do with evangelism. But at Friendship Lutheran Church, Amelia, Ohio, that's exactly how folks spread God's love.

Members incorporated "kindness evangelism" into their outreach — cleaning windshields of parked cars, feeding parking meters, cleaning toilets at local businesses and giving away doughnuts, cans of soup, light bulbs and discount coupons for gasoline. While doing kindness activities, members also pass out inspirational cards that have information about Friendship.
