When Dorwin Reimers gazes over his wheat field from the seat of his combine, he thinks resurrection. That's what Reimers told his pastor, Gretchen Ritola, one Easter years ago when she served Trinity Lutheran Church, Dalton, Neb.
Ritola is now pastor of St. Luke and St. Paul Lutheran churches, about two blocks apart in Emerson, Neb., population 800. She is a firm believer in connecting liturgy to life — rural life, that is.
