Arizona Lutheran organization builds healthier marriages in church-state partnership

In any episode of The Jerry Springer Show, Sherod Miller sees what anyone in a caring relationship needs to avoid. "Yelling, cursing, fighting and disrespecting your partner may make for popular TV fare, but it is absolutely devastating in the home," says Miller, chair of Interpersonal Communication Programs Inc., Evergreen, Colo.

Miller has been a leader in marriage and relationship education for more than 30 years. Thousands of couples have attended nationwide workshops that use his communication-building techniques to help them respect one another and deal successfully with issues in their relationships.
