We have changed

Our worldview is considerably altered since Sept. 11

After Sept. 11, Faisal was suddenly viewed with great suspicion by many who entered his taxi and soon began puzzling over the Arabic name on his badge.

I got into Faisal's cab in June and asked where he was from. Faisal, an Indian, soon described his frustration since Sept. 11 with those who treat him with fear or anger because they think he is Arab. He said he despairs of finding a job in accounting and is searching for a sponsor so he can stay in the United States.
