Q: In the hymn "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" (Lutheran Book of Worship #499), the second verse begins: "Here I raise my Ebenezer, Hither by thy help I'm come." What is an Ebenezer? Words in our hymns ought to be understandable.
Q: When I was in confirmation the third article of the Apostle's Creed read: "I believe in the Holy Ghost; the Holy Christian Church, the Communion of Saints; the forgiveness of sins ...." In the creed's new version, commas are used throughout. Does this mean we no longer believe the church is the communion of saints?
