What you really can't say in the ELCA

Distortion of doctrinal and moral issues already happened

The ELCA's move to study the blessing of homosexual unions and the ordination of people who are in them has frightened many who hold the traditional position on sex and marriage. But the situation is worse than they imagine.

The traditional position already lost the most important battle when it was decided at the 2001 Churchwide Assembly in Indianapolis that the nature of Christian marriage was up for discussion. We should fear not what will happen in 2005 but what did happen in 2001.
