Augsburg Fortress CEO: Marketing vital to improving finances

Better communication and marketing, improved accountability and "grace" from customers are three keys to turning around the fortunes of Augsburg Fortress, Publishers, said Beth A. Lewis, president and CEO, at an Oct. 24-26 trustees meeting in Minneapolis.

During a "2002 Asking for Directions Tour" Sept. 29-Oct. 17, Lewis talked to church leaders, synod resource center directors, and customers in the Southeast and Midwest about the company. They challenged the publisher to communicate better, to come up with a coordinated marketing strategy and to earn back the trust of customers, she said.
