Camped on the hospital floor, the family of Meuinda, 10 (right), waits for her to improve enough to go home after she was treated for a poisonous snakebite. Yaguam Hospital heavily subsidized the antivenom Meuinda’s family would otherwise not be able to afford. The antivenom cost $385; the family paid $2.
