Partners with the poor

The father and son established Partner in Health in 2001. A nonprofit organization, it identifies candidates for surgery from the impoverished rural areas of Guatemala and provides translators, escorts, transportation and lodging necessary to see them through treatment. Through its efforts in 2002, 611 people received surgery for conditions such as cleft palate, scarring from untreated burns and cataracts
