William Martin makes decisions daily that are scrutinized by the national and international media. This spring the athletic director at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, was named president of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
To make sure he's "doing the right thing," Martin asks himself one simple question: "Is what I'm about to do something I would like to see above the fold on the front page of any newspaper? If the answer is no, I don't even think about doing it," he said.
