Most Americans seem to want him to stay in office. Most also seem to want him reprimanded for his personal conduct. And virtually all of us want to put this mess behind us and get on with the nation's life.
I can't recall a time when there was such national ambivalence about what to do with a president. It's an uncertainty I share.
