N.Y. congregation renovates home for teenage mothers

This Christmas there is room at the inn. Several needy young mothers and their children in rural Upstate New York are now living safe and warm in apartments created by Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Branch, N.Y.

"Room at the Inn" began welcoming mothers this fall after more than a year of tireless work by the 125-member congregation. The project provides a home for up to four young mothers and their children who otherwise might have unsafe or unsuitable housing, said Kristen Green, the project's executive director.
