Recommended to the Church Council adoption of a resolution to express ELCA commitment to companion churches and partner agencies in Africa as they address the HIV/AIDS crisis, the projected increase in chronic hunger and the need for reconciliation and peacemaking. The resolution also affirms the development of "Stand with Africa: A Campaign of Hope," an ELCA, Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod effort to fund activities in those areas.
* Approved nine corporate social responsibility resolutions and recommended them to Church Council. Topics included equity in the workplace, energy and environment, land mines and fair lending/community reinvestment.
* Commended the Older Adult Ministry Consultation Report to the ELCA.
