Innovative worship lets the congregation explore issues together

In the skit, Adam acted sarcastic and boorish. And he didn't listen at all to fragile and subdued Eve. But each learned valuable lessons about their behavior and the power of love at the end of The Apple Tree, a drama performed at Celebration Lutheran Church, Mount Juliet, Tenn.

The skit laid the groundwork for Doug Hill's sermon. "We all are plagued by the sin of stereotyping," says Hill, pastor of Celebration. But rather than simply preaching about stereotyping, Hill invites comments and observations in a discussion that seems part temple talk, part Oprah Winfrey.
