Though you don't hear much about them, there are other positions on the ELCA ministry roster besides pastors. More than 1,300 women and men serve three kinds of calls--deaconesses, associates in ministry and diaconal ministers--working in schools, churches and hospitals to name just a few.
But what does each rostered position mean and how can someone who feels called by God decide which is right for them?
