Full communion partners struggle with ecumenical and sexuality issues

At Its June 9-15 General Synod, the Reformed Church in America affirmed relationships with Lutherans, Roman Catholics and evangelicals, yet limited further relations with the United Church of Christ.

RCA delegates voted to begin talks with the ELCA and the Vatican to study the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification, signed in 1999 by Lutherans and Catholics.

They also voted to apply for membership in the National Association of Evangelicals.
