It was a phone call Jennifer Bjork had been hoping for. An FBI agent called and asked if she was sitting down. Her 4-year-old son, Christopher, had been found and was OK. On May 31, 2002, her former husband, Mark Samples, awaiting trial for bank robbery, did not return Christopher after a routine weekend visit (January, page 8).
The boy and his father had been living in a quiet northeastern Ohio neighborhood, hiding from authorities. Samples was in custody at an Ohio jail, the agent told her.
