Uncaring is unbiblical

Unless Christian's lifestyles match God's concern for the poor, our preaching will be weak and our faith heretical

Three things don't fit together: The reality of poverty, biblical teaching and the actions of Christians.

The Bible is clear: God has special concern for the poor and calls people of faith to share that concern. Yet per capita giving by U.S. church members has declined every year since 1968. In that year, average members donated 3.14 percent of their income. Although our income has increased more than 50 percent since then, giving is below 2.5 percent.

What do you suppose the God of the Bible thinks about that?
