Stop the violence

ELCA youth are on board to put an end to domestic abuse

Headlines scream out the violence — not the violence of far-off wars but violence in the home: Man kills wife then self; Father holds child hostage; Woman charged in infants' deaths.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America condemned domestic violence at its 1995 Churchwide Assembly in Minneapolis. Since then two national training workshops were held with the theme "Stop the violence: Heal hurting families." A third workshop was offered to an ecumenical audience in the Virgin Islands.
