Fresh fish, mixed vegetables

You wouldn't think vegetables could make such a splash. But on Oct. 4 in a theater near you, the heroes of the animated video series from Veggie Tales will set sail in the company's first full-length feature film, Jonah: A Veggie Tales Movie.

Phil Vischer, founder of Big Idea Productions, quotes Plato ("Whoever tells the story shapes society") when asked why he wanted to make a general release feature film. "We want to recapture the power of storytelling and use it in the service of biblical truth," he says.

So why start with Jonah? Why not a New Testament story? Vischer laughs: "There are no stories in the New Testament with good chase scenes."
